Dr. Satish Jain delivered an insightful lecture on Optimising FESS (Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery) Outcomes at the 13th TSESI Grand Round. He emphasized the critical importance of accurate diagnosis in achieving successful Sinusitis Treatment. Dr. Jain emphasized the use of SNOT-22 questionnaire, a key diagnostic tool that assesses the severity of symptoms in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS). This tool helps to identify the specific issues affecting a patient’s quality of life, allowing for targeted treatment.Furthermore, Dr. Jain discussed the concept of endotypes in CRS, explaining how understanding the underlying inflammation patterns can significantly guide treatment decisions. He highlighted the importance of recognizing different disease phenotypes and tailoring interventions accordingly. Dr. Jain also stressed the value of collaboration with pulmonologists, particularly for patients who may have underlying respiratory conditions that complicate FESS outcomes. This multidisciplinary approach, he noted, ensures comprehensive care and improves patient outcomes in complex cases.
